RA?

by judith
(boston, ma, usa)

I don't have any pictures and I'm not even sure I have an RA story to share! I have just turned 50 and last year, after a very stressful and chaotic trip to Ethiopia to adopt two children, my fingers and hips began to hurt. Some mornings, it was painful to lift the orange juice carton out of the refrigerator and it was impossible for me to sit cross legged on the floor anymore. My wrists also bothered me periodically. I don't seem to have swelling or none that I can see. I have noticed warmth at times in my finger joints.

I believe that given the right nutrition our bodies can heal so I have not consulted a doctor. However, I recently eliminated all dairy, meat, sugar and grains from my diet to see if I notice a difference.

It's hard to say yet because although I feel good and don't seem to have pain right now, I have experienced periods in the past with relatively little pain only to have it flare up again later!

Thanks for this website. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your journey and wish you every bit of pain free living and joy ahead! Best regards, Judith
